All packed (almost) and ready to go! It was hard to know what I would need when I get there... The weather (despite being so far North-West and on Lake Superior) is actually quite similar to home, so I anticipate that Spring is settling in there as much as here. I packed a bunch of movies and books for fun, my camera and a handful of batteries, and the rest is essentials. I'm doing my best to make this 3-month school/work placement into a travel adventure!
Here are some of the things I plan on visiting, total tourist-style (including baseball cap, camera, and look of perpetual amazement):
- Kakabeka Falls
- Eagle Canyon
- Ouimet Canyon
- Panorama Amethyst Mine
- Sleeping Giant
- Pigeon River
...There are more things, too, but those are the biggies. I will take many a photo ^_^
While I am away, I will (generally) have access to phone and internet. I will keep on blogging, time permitting, though it will probably mostly just be about my little explorations of the area.
Although I always have larger issues on my mind (believe me, my brain buzzes all day long about politics, animal rights, social justice, climate change, etc. etc.), I need time to dedicate to expressing those things properly. Besides, this blog is mainly to keep friends who are physically distant updated on my comings and goings. The thrills never cease! Hee hee.
Wish me luck, and keep in touch!
