3rd week down. Not a lot to report on that front. No new photos, either. Made this weekend a "pajama" weekend because I needed the break. I've been homesick and have exhausted myself a bit, running around trying to keep busy and see everything the city has to offer. So on my weekend off, I have been reading ("Lennon Revealed" and "Sleeping Naked is Green"), I've watched some personal and library movies and tonight, the big event is to go see "The Backup Plan" with my landlady and another student at the CNIB. Not really my first choice at the theatre, but I have a coupon for free admission. So who cares?

Many things on my mind... I saw "Oceans" on Earth Day (Thurs) by myself. I thought it would be fun to do something to mark the day besides putting extra effort into my usual eco-friendly habits (I have a few!). It was fun enough, and I loved hearing the reactions of all the kids in the audience (it was a FULL house, and 80% of the audience was under age 10). Then I was driving home (feeling guilty about all the fuel I was burning), and saw a youngish couple flying a kite in a park. I thought "DANG! They've got the right idea!" ...Between that, some documentaries and some further reading, I've been very aware of environmental issues. These could take up several weeks' worth of blog entries so I won't expand at the moment, I just want to say that I've been thinking a lot (at least, more than usual. I normally have this on my mind).

These are the things I am enjoying the most about being here (a little GHF), in no particular order:

• having reliable internet ALL the time
• my new phone plan with Koodo
• fresh air
• trees (the landscape in general... lakes and mountains and rivers... ahhh..)
• public library (better than home!)
• having the car available all the time
